Ride from Mallaig to Inverie
Mallaig is a small fishing village at the end of the A830 traveling from Fort William. There is a regular train and bus service from Fort William as well as the Jacobite Steam train that runs twice a day in the summer months.
All bus and rail time tables can be found in our Travel Links. There is plenty of free parking, shops, a swimming pool, restaurants, and a new marina.
You will find the Western Isles Ticket office on the Old Pier just off the high street. The trip to Inverie takes about 30-45 minutes depending on which boat you catch. The first and last boats of the day tend to be on the faster boats, taking about 30 minutes.
The MV Western Isles is a traditional wooden passenger vessel with toilets and a bar on board. This a very special vessel that you can walk all around and fully enjoy the breathtaking scenery up the Loch. It does take a bit longer but the trip is well worthwhile.
All boats have toilets and drinks available on board. All sailing is weather dependent so please check web site for any disruptions. A full refund will be made if your sailing is cancelled.
We do not normally charge for reasonable amounts of luggage but, but there will be a charge if there is an unusually large amount. Children under five years old travel free as do dogs of all shapes and sizes.
All customers must arrive 30 minutes before sailing.
