Western Isles Cruises Ltd Won Back the Knoydart Ferry Council Contract

Bruce Watt previous owner of the MV Western Isles, after running the Knoydart Ferry service for 40 year lost the contact to Sea Bridge in 2013. Western Isles Cruises Ltd took over the operation of the Western Isles in September 2013. Following a complete refurbishment she was once again operating as an independent ferry service to Inverie and Tarbet on the Knoydart peninsular as well as starting a 1 hour wildlife cruise for the Jacobite Seam Train that visits Mallaig twice daily in the summer months.

In December 2015 Western Isles Cruises Ltd were approached by Sea Bridge with an offer to buy out there operation and take back the council contract. In April 2016 after some detailed negotiation and agreement with the High Land Council, Western Isles Cruises Ltd won back the Knoydart Ferry council contract and the Royal Mail post contract to provide this life line service to the residents of Inverie and Tarbet.
